Panther Creek Waterfall * hiking & camping :)

This past weekend we drove about 5 hours north to Clarkesville GA, were we camped hiked and enjoyed ourselves. The weather was a LoT cooler than it has been in Savannah!! We did a 7 mile hike round trip up to these gorgeous waterfalls! Josh carried John the whole way on his back. The hike was perfect not too tough but still challenging. We worked up quite the sweat which was fine cuz when we got there there was a beautiful swim hole beneath the waterfall :) We swam to cool off and enjoyed the scenery while we ate our lunch! It was SO FUN AND BEAUTIFUL. We camped up there two nights, and right when we were packing out it POURED rain on us :) so pretty much everything got soaked :) a Father's Day weekend to remember :)

Sunday afternoon

We love Sundays. We usually spend them relaxing in our nice air conditioned apartment (yesterday it was nearly 100 degrees I swear) we have early church which works out perfect because right about the time John goes down for a nap, we've eaten and we get our Sunday nap too! We all take a 2 hour nap. :) These are just some photos of yesterday of Josh and John playin and of Josh reading the children's version Book of Mormon to John :) it's so cute. He actually sits and listens :) While Josh was reading about Laman and Lemuel mocking Nephi for making the ship... John got after them, :) as you can see in the picture :)

CrAb ShAcK! *

A while ago we went to the cutest sea food restaurant I've ever seen! It was right on the water, basket chandeliers were hanging from the outdoor patio ceiling, little tall wooden round top tables to eat on, lights strewn above us, and delicious food!!! Oh and when you first get there, there is this walkway to the outdoor restaurant thru a pond like area with ToNs of alligators! It was so crazy cool! Then upon leaving the restaurant after the fabulous meal, we walked thru their gift shop where there was a room full of exotic birds!! We only spent maybe half a minute in there cuz..... Josh was holding John, they got pretty close to the cage, and Josh was just talking to it (a really large beautiful bright blue and yellow parrot) and it let out a piercing LoUd bark like sound causing Josh to jump way back while screaming out of terror. Our poor baby John!!! I have never ever never seen him so terrified. His face got red, his eyes watery, his whole body was tightening while screaming like I've never heard him before. We rushed out trying to calm him and Josh down. It took a minute. When we were finally calmed down we looked at each other and burst out laughing. :) It was an outing to remember. This was all in Tybee Georgia. Not too far from our place :) I forgot to mention that first we played on the beach, then out for dinner. John had a blast on the beach!! As soon as we parked the car and started walking to the water, he was reaching his arms out towards it, jumping up and down in my arms with excitement on his face saying: "oooooh oooooh!" It was so cute! He loved the sand :) He was throwing it everywhere:) we got ourselves a little beach baby :) Here are some pictures of it:)

Downtown Savannah :) *

This past weekend we finally made it to downtown Savannah. :) It was so beautiful and fun. There was so much to see. They had a bunch of fun cute little shops, ice cream parlors, candy stores, jewelry markets, photo/painting booths, but Josh and I managed to not spend one cent :) Just walking through was fun enough :) We made a great memory and to me that's the most important! We forgot John's little stroller so he spent most of the time on Daddy's shoulders. Sweet Josh. I love my dear husband so much! John got two free balloons and one free lollipop for being so stinking cute from a couple different venders :) We drove there and back in Josh's new little red 99 celica convertible with the top down. It is such a fun car for outings like this :) Defiantly a day and an outing to remember. I love my little family. They mean everything to me! :)

It's been a while :) ...catch up time*

So it has been about two months since posting anything on here :) and a lot has happened! Josh graduated AIT training in Virginia. It was a long hard ride but he grew and learned so much! I'm so proud of him!! We got our first duty station in Savannah GA and are loving it. The area is so beautiful and with a new place comes new people to meet new things to do and see!! It's been an adventure :) The weather is hot, the trees are beautiful the people are friendly. A lot has happened. John turned 1 :) he's still crawling but he recently learned how to wave and clap! He has two teeth up top and two on bottom. His hair is more blond and more curly. He's a joy in every way! He can stand for about 5 seconds every now and then too before plopping down :) first here are a few fun pictures of our little man :)

Camping and Frisbee Golf in Virginia

Camping is something that Josh and I love! We went a handful of times while we lived in Virginia! We had a blast! So did little John!
They had a frisbee golf course at the campground and WE HAD A BLAST playing it!!!!

You can't tell in this picture but John has on about 5 layers to help keep him warm!! He was bundled up like a little marshmello!

Josh was just trying to scare off the bears :) it worked!
